About Puget Sound Rum Company

Rum may not be the first spirit people associate with Washington, but Puget Sound Rum Company has spent years changing that perception one bottle at a time. As Woodinville's first rum distillery, the company was founded by longtime friends Tom Kelley and Matt McMullen with a mission to craft distinctive, small-batch rums that stand comfortably alongside the world's finest sipping spirits. Drawing inspiration from traditional Jamaican rum-making while embracing the climate, water, and craftsmanship of the Pacific Northwest, the distillery has created a style that is unmistakably its own.

Every rum begins with organic panela, an unrefined cane sugar sourced from a family farm in Colombia, before being distilled in a traditional Jamaican-style pot still. The resulting lineup ranges from bright, flavorful white rum to bourbon barrel-aged expressions and honey-infused releases that highlight the versatility of the spirit without relying on artificial sweeteners. Tastings encourage guests to rethink what rum can be, whether enjoyed neat, in a classic daiquiri, or as the foundation for a thoughtfully crafted cocktail.

Beyond the spirits themselves, Puget Sound Rum Company is driven by a meaningful purpose. A portion of every purchase supports cancer research through the Fred Hutch Cancer Center, reflecting the founders' belief that great spirits can make a positive impact far beyond the tasting room.
